Compiling errors in "Classic" TW3 version

Hi,
my game is from Steam (the latest version), but I decided to play the "Classic" version for better performance (I don't have ray-tracing-capable hardware etc.). Switched to "Classic" using Steam "Betas" feature to access older versions of games

I downloaded the latest release, dropped the folders into the game directory, there was no message to merge anything, but then I got many compiling errors when launching the game.

Should I use the "No Annotations" version of the mod to use it in the Classic version? I'm a little confused because I don't know if the Classic version is just a latest version with inferior graphics or if it is technically an older version of the game before the filelist was updated

I apologized if this was already asked, I searched and could only file problems in compiling but they did not seem to be related to the Classic version of the game

I'm not using any other mods whatsoever, this is just the vanilla game (in Classic version), I didn't download any mod besides this one.

EDIT: (Using "No Annotations" version of the mod)
I tried the "No Annotations" version of the mod and this time I got the script compilation error that some stuff were "already exported"

I tried uninstalling the game, then installing the Shared Imports mod, then installing the Community Patch mod, then download the Random Encounters Reworked, still getting the compilation errors (Unexpected '@').

Alright, I found your specific documentation for Old Gen, followed it to the letter. I did a clean reinstallation of the game, and this time I used the v2.4 of the mod as well, and everything worked now!

Perfect! Note that the old gen version is a bit outdated compared to the next gen, but you can try downloading the no-annotations version of the mod from the latest update to replace your modRandomEncountersReworked with it (only that one), and also pick the mod menu. I remember someone telling me it worked last time I suggested that, it's worth trying if you want the new features & bug fixes.

Also in theory the DX11 version of the next-gen update should offer the same performances as the old-gen 1.32 version. The confusing part is that they added two new graphical presets above what used to be the Ultra setting and they also increased the quality of all presets, so you could launch the NG DX11 and try the second quality preset thinking it should run as good as the old-gen version but you're actually running on the 4th preset if you compare the settings. So to get the same performances you have to use a lower preset (that offers the same quality however)
