Treemacs shows endless copies of the same files

Sometimes after using Emacs for a while, Treemacs fills up with seemingly endless copies of the same file over and over again.

The above screenshot goes on like that for about 5 window heights before the next folder below shows up, and then more of the same file show up under some wrong folders.

Any ideas?

I'm on Emacs 30.93 on Windows. I use projectile, activities, company, magit. Not sure what other things would be relevant. I haven't so far noticed what exactly triggers this behavior.
