Hey, I follow the project since the beginning of the year. I encourage you to get rid of "aliexpress modules" (codec board, noname screen) in it's HW design. I would be happy to add ZicBox to the list then.

Unfortunately, I don't have the skill to design my own DAC or display spi interface and this project aims to target DIY builders so using SMD components would eliminate a big part of the community, forcing me to sell the hardware, which I don't really want to do for the moment...
