I have an idea for the plugin and wanted to gauge interest:
LCSC now offers a BOM tool. Essentially you upload a csv in a certain format and get some shopping cart automation out of it, which is extremely handy if you want to order parts yourself for assembly instead of having JLCPCB do it for you.
The format is somewhat similar to JLCPCB Assembly BOM but not completely. Most importantly, it does not require a LCSC number but can also work with manufacturer partnumbers, footprints and values. You are not always bound to have a concrete part selected yet, but you can then map it interactively in the BOM tool based on search suggestions.
Also, in this case, exporting with a component count for intended number of boards would be handy, also you might have multiple footprints mapping to the same component type (e.g. 0402 100nF caps are usually numerous), so that if you have 10 footprints for same component type, and want 50 Boards, you would need to export a count of 500 for said component (+ maybe a small percentage for loss).
I think this would fit well in here and the effort is probably not too high as a BOM exporter etc. already exists, and we have all the data needed to fill it in already at hand.
I would volunteer to look into implementing it, just wanted to see if this is deemed useful before I start.
