NFC-RFID not work on lilygo t display SD_MMC Version

Hi, using the LilyGO T-Display S3 touch screen, the PN532 module is not detected. Tested on an M5, it works.

PN532 module with the switch set to I2C, SDA: 13 – SCL: 12, selecting the PN532 I2C module from the menu, version 75c5cee.

Once everything is connected and the correct parameters are set, the module is not detected. The same module works on other devices.

Well observed, it won't work on these pins for the touchscreen version, because is using other pins on Wire (SPI) to handle the touchscreen..

If it have worked, the touchscreen would stop working..

And if you are using the Lilygo expansion board (SD_MMC version), pin 13 is attached to the SD control.. so wouldn't work too...

I will change it here and patch will be available on beta asap

Thanks for the quick reply and the detailed explanation. The GPS also uses pin 13 for RX seem to have also issues. Pins 16 and 21 remain free for the PN532 following the mentioned version? I look forward to further updates.

Pin 13 will affect your SD read/write if you are using this shield

I will move the I2C to SDA=18, SCL=17, which is the same touchscreen pins.. you can set it in the config:

• Scroll through the entire main menu to the Right (Wifi->BLE....-> CFG -> Wifi) 5 times, non-stop,

It will enable "dev mode", then you'll have a on "CFG->Dev Mode->I2C Pins" menu

Change it to SDA=18, SCL=17 and try the PN532

With the beta version, the GPS has issues even with the micro SD, while with version 1.12 the GPS seems to work fine (it correctly detects GPS, date, time, and position) even with the micro SD. I should note that I’m using a custom board with the pinout for the Willy/Bruce firmware, as indicated on the GitHub page, not the original LilyGO shield.

Regarding the PN532, I followed the procedure you suggested on both version 1.12 and beta75c5cee, and I can confirm that it seems to work (the module is detected and the tag is read successfully). No pcb/shield, lilygo+jumper+pn532

Nothing had changed on GPS logic from 1.12 until now, except the framework update, that might be "securing" the pin when it is selected to SD_MMC/SPI bus..

I changed the GPS pins to RX=16 TX=21, and adjusted SDA=18 and SCL=17, it might work better this way.

To help avoid pin conflicts between I2C and UART and to solve various issues, I’d like to suggest the following pinout for the LilyGO S3 T-Display SD_MMC:

GROVE_SDA: 16

GROVE_SCL: 21

GPS_TX: 12

GPS_RX: 13

SERIAL_TX: 12

SERIAL_RX: 13

This setup seems to resolve the conflicts between UART and GPS, as well as between I2C and UART. It works well for my board, and I think it could be a general solution to help others as well.

Try to make a Wardriving section, and check if the output file is being saved on the SDCard, and if it is being a valid file for wigle (no corrupted data)

This is where the pins 12 and 13 comes to play along SD and GPS

Using this other set of pins to I2C can work, but it is better to use the same touchscreen I2C bus, as these pins can't be used to anything else

Testing with both version 1.12 and the beta version, the GPS is now not working. When testing wardriving, it stays in a waiting state; once it found 6 networks and updated the position, but it did not create any file on the micro SD.

It happened because the SD pins are trapped with other task, so they must be exclusive to SD card

Beta haven't build yet, I fixing an issue here.. will be available in 30minutes, using the pinouts I mention here
