Can you have two Bluetooth controllers connected? (i.e. Chocolate and Chocolate +)

I have both a M-vave Chocolate and Chocolate +. Can you connect both to the ToneXOne Controller? I think it would be cool to be able to have one controlling banks and the other effects. I have it setup right now where a bank on the Controller + is controlling my main effects, but would be better if I could use both of the devices. I couldn't see anything in the config to allow this. Fantastic project!

Hi. Thanks. At the moment, it only allows one bluetooth device to be connected.

There is a work around i think. If you add a wired midi option for your controller, than you can use two midi controllers.. one wired and one bluetooth…

Thanks for this. I have the 2 button Ampero switch hooked up but was a bit limiting given # effects. (I have seen the HW build but didn't have parts yet for this) I did however, get 2 BT midi devices working. I know just enough coding to be dangerous, but with Claude Code, I was able to take the latest Beta and get both a M-Vave Chocolate and Chocolate Plus to work with the controller. The way I'm using this is as follows:

1. The Chocolate is doing bank switching 5 banks to cover the 20 presets
2. The ChocolatePlus is doing effects. I have the "Midi CC on BT" set to on. Then with the CubeSuite software I put together midi commands that I wanted to turn on/off effects and even set the levels where I want. This more or less allows me to think of the effects as being global. It still retains on/off setting per preset setting, but this works.

Build was a bit more work than expected. I couldn't for the life of me get the original Bluedroid stack to work so I ended up switching over to Nimble. The code changes basically allows for two BT midi devices to connect and then creates a BT midi aggregation layer.

I'm happy to share this over to the project if at all useful. The way this is implemented is a bit of hack and likely doesn't play well with the external foot switch config in the UI. There is likely a much more elegant way to do this.

However this was an immensely fun project to learn to play with Claude Code. As mentioned, not a developer and was amazed at what this can do.

Hi. I do have plans to implement support for dual BT devices. The ESP-IDF framework has samples of this. There is just too many things to do. I'm putting in about 20 hours a week, but also working full time and have a family, so its busy times.

As far as AI coding, yeah there are some amazing things happening there. I don't think I'll be out of a job myself anytime soon, but I'm also using AI for writing little things like test scripts.
