Midi CC ?

Greatly enjoying your project ! Thank you.

From what I understand, the ToneX one doesn't actually use midi at all right ? It is only responding to usb messages that you are translating to give us midi PC changes.

Question is it possible to enact CC commands like turning delay on or off etc ? I am guessing no ?

As usable workaround I have just duplicated presets with our without these effects

Hi Al. Correct, the controller is translating Midi commands into the special USB commands that the Tonex One uses.
The ability to change the effects is the number 1 most requested feature. I have been working on this, and have identified how to read the parameters, but so far I have not had any success trying to change them.

IK Multimedia has said that they may introduce something in this area, so hopefully either that happens, or maybe I get lucky with a work-around.
So right now the answer is no, but hopefully it becomes a yes eventually.

Does midi cc work with M-Vave chocolate through bluetooth using Waveshare 1.69" ? I have tried to send CC commands without success. I know midi over bluetooth is a stretch :)
I have used the CC commands from the tonex pedal (the big one), but I am not sure if those are correct.
The reference for midi is in the manual in the link below:

Later I will try using it with a normal MIDI DIN Controller through the Waveshare 1.69" and feedback here.

Thanks, I will change my Chocolate pedal and do some debugging.

With the Waveshare 1.69", did you connect the Midi port correctly? if you get the wrong pin, the input pin will be "floating" and will receive random data

No luck. I couldnt make it work through MIDI DIN even with older software (1.0.5.2). It keeps changing presets. I made sure the connections :/

This doesn't help the OP. But I can confirm that the beta for the 16.9 works for program changes and CC from my FM9 over widi Bluetooth using your native Bluetooth firmware functionality

I don't have a chocolate here to test

MIDI CC Worked on Waveshare Zero and MIDI DIN!

Additionally if I use the m-vave chocolate with a TRS to DIN cable, it was can control tonex one using the MIDI DIN connection.
But I cannot send MIDI CC through bluetooth for some reason

I found the issue with Midi CC over bluetooth. I had coded it for Client mode but not for Server mode.

I added the code and it works for CC, but it causes another issue. When the Chocolate pedal does a bank change, it sends out a CC message like:
80 80 b0 03 05 // bank 3
80 80 b0 02 05 // bank 2

The issue is that these are the same allocations as Tonex functions. So when you switch banks, it can accidentally switch on e.g. delay.

I don't know how to fix this at the moment. I can't tell in code whether its a bank change or a parameter change that arrives.

Maybe you can add this function as a switch special for the Chocolate in http://tonex.local , in that way a person that enables function will understand the problem when used the CC commands through the Chocolate, and if he/she needs to send PC, keep using Advanced Custom Mode for Program Changes instead of using the Chocolate configured as Program Change A

Anyway, does this phenomenon also happens when the chocolate is configured as Program Change B or C ? Or is it only on Program Change A ? Maybe that's a way out :) Anyway, amazing job.

Yeah, I've added a new menu item to web config to enable Midi CC on BT peripheral mode.
I can't break everybody's Choc pedals by default, so I think this is the best way.

Beta 3 releases with this change are available now.

Re 1.69 wired Midi, do yu have a multimeter? Make sure the Midi adpator board is receiving 3.3v and is the correct polarity. Also if using the Sparkfun one, make sure you have the right socket soldered in. One is for Midi In, one for Midi out.

Awesome.
Yeah the optocoupler is important. It protects the microcontroller pins. Make sure you have the recommended resistors around it. One of them is a "pull-up" resistor, that ensures the microcontroller pin is not floating, which causes the kind of issues like you have.

I ended up buying a pre-made midi board with midi through. And optocoupler and so on.
