USB MIDI

Hey, first of all thanks for putting this project up. I had been looking at doing all the reverse engineering myself, but I don't have a background in this stuff.

My question is, can any of these boards receive MIDI over USB? If so, if you can point me to a doc, I can help code it. Thanks!

Hi. At the moment, no. Espressif Systems, who make the chip and support libraries, have released various versions over the years.
The one I am using on this project is not the latest, and it doesn't allow the use of USB hubs. A hub would be needed in order to connect multiple devices to the single USB port on the boards.

However, some newer versions do support hubs. I have tried a few times to migrate to a later version, but keep running into problems, mainly with the build system. Their recommendations for having muiltiple builds in one project seem to be broken on the new one. Trying to changing the chip type to ESP32-S3 causes it to delete the build folder, which contains the sdkconfig file. And then it crashes out as it cant find this sdk config file.

Now that version 1.0.7 is out, I will get back onto this and try to get it sorted
