Dual instances of tonex.local

Hey!

Loving this project, I've actually bought a second tonex to run parallel amps.

It hasn't arrived yet but is there a way to 'name' the tonex pedals on the wifi network so that I can connect to them both separately in a tonex.local browser? Only solution I can think of at the moment would be to unplug one of them.

I have two screens setup with 2 tonex pedals however the XVIVE MD1 dongle only syncs up with one of them at a time (whichever was turned on first)

This is a shame so sadly the dual screen thing for me at least may be a no-go unless I wire up wired midi and connect the midi input circuit to both screens at the same time (kinda like a midi splitter I'd guess)

The other option would be to disable the MD1 on one pedal using the web config. That would guarantee it can only connect to one of the controllers.
Or, if the MD1 allows its device name to be changed, you could do that and use the custom BT name option.

Yeah you're right, it's both at the same time needed.

My use case is midi out from multi FX (line 6 helix) into BOTH tonex run as parallel amps. One tonex on midi channel 1 and the other on channel 2

I've been thinking, but I don't have any better ideas at the moment. Bluetooth doesn't permit connecting a single peripheral device to 2 centrals simultaneously.
I think you idea of wired Midi with the signal split into both controllers is best option.

Yeah I've basically come to the conclusion that running two tonex ones with all the additional headaches isn't worth the 5% increase in tone haha.

In theory my plan would've been to wire up a midi input circuit with a midi thru output that feeds a second midi input circuit for the second tonex.

Time to go play guitar instead I think haha

Something I have been exploring too. I am using 2 Tonex Ones for one of my guitars running 2 separate outputs (magnetic and piezo) hence the need for separate cabs and IRs. So far I have been wiring 2 waveshare boards to the same set of footswitches so both Tonex Ones get switched from Preset 1 -> 2 -> 3... together in tandem. But has anyone tried a similar setup using bluetooth?
