Questions about Ethnicity

Lorna wanted me to add ethnicity as part of the locations table, but there are a bunch of problems with this. The point of the locations table is to have 1 location to link to whenever a place is mentioned. So, for instance, whenever we want to mention something is in Nigeria, we can link to the "Nigeria" entry.

But ethnicity is almost never a 1:1 correlation with a place. Nigeria has 300+ ethnic groups, while the Yoruba ethnic groups inhabits parts of Nigeria, Benin, and Togo.

More discussion is needed about why the team wants these to be tied to location, so that we can properly represent the data.
