However, the Departments recommend that group health plans and health insurance issuers maintain prior months’ machine-readable files to demonstrate compliance

Would you be able to provide additional guidance on the prior months' There are some group health plans that are reviewing this questions and believe the term months' require that all MRF are retained. Would it be possible to have the departments clarify if this is for a singular month or multiple months.
