McMMO some skills not working

I am trying to setup a fabric server with McMMO using cardboard, running the newest McMMO version that i compiled myself, however some skills seem to not work. Every skill that needs the player to attack a mob like Swords or Axes, Smelting and acrobatics all seem to not work/give the player XP in the skill. I also tried to use the same McMMO build on a paper server with the same configs and there it works no problem so it shouldn't be an issue with my McMMo build but rather with cardboard

Edit: probably should mention i am running 1.21.11
