should the reply button open the reply thread, when replying to a reply

If you click the reply button on a regular message, the reply prompt appears at the bottom of chat,
but clicking the reply button on an existing reply, opens the thread popup instead, causing you to reply to the head message if you input your text there

is that intended or an oversight of #4923, i'm assuming an oversight because nobody actually thinks about the button since it's ugly

Maybe a new "reply button behaviour" setting with the options:

1. Reply to Message
2. Reply to Original Thread > Reply to Message
3. Open Thread window

with default being 2?

EDIT: eeeeeeeeeh idk if 3 should ever be an option, this is more a matter of the action being different depending on if the thread is new or not. I'd say just change the default behaviour to 2 and see if anyone wants the button to be able to do 1)

I would prefer 1 to be the default since the general intention of a reply, is to reply to that message. I know that we have the original thread setting but it seems silly imo, I personally use the thread popup if I really need to reply to the head message, but idk

but 3 seems dumb since there's already a clickable field that does that
