test framework: jsdom, chai-jquery, karma? #13

Still not clear to me how best to create a test framework:

use static tools & simulate the browser -- may be hard to use google maps!!!
use puppeterr -- cf. this somewhat useful blog post
is chai-http something that could be used here, or not really? seems like not.
useful selenium article but not yet clear how to implement the kinds of tests I'm used to
sinon is interesting but really what I'm looking for...
this description of karma is pretty helpful!!!

I also quite like this ocmprehensive intro to mocha which contains a number of kinds of examples.
