HTD has been used on several occasions to describe simulations setups. However, the templates do not provide proper support to describe simulation models. This can become a real issue, when specific (properties of) models are subject of the test case. Providing a reference implementation (e.g., a Simulink model or PowerFactory model) is for several reasons not a satisfying solutions, rather a tool-independent description would be required.
Hence, I would like to propose to add to the HTD an optional template for simulation models. This could for instance be based on an adapted version of the model description template from the PreCISE approach (refer to Deliverable 4.1 from SmILES project for details), which provides a tool-independent approach for describing simulation models. For complex simulation setups this could be added as an attachment to an HTD description.

An example of how this could look like comes from the JRA1 benchmarks, e.g., the model description of the multi-energy networks benchmark
