Description
Is your feature request related to a problem?
I performed a cursory search and was surprised this has not been requested yet.
The current model of Coop Campaign hosts is a bit irking for 3 reasons.
Passworded lobbies with a single person in them abound, sometimes offering false hope when looking for a public game to join, while also cluttering the list of lobbies with irrelevant ones. Moreover the way they can jump around when they update can result in double-clicking the wrong lobby when trying to join one.
Additionally, it creates an annoyance & impedance to require a password if a group of players want essentially a friends-only game. Passwords can be misremembered, or incorrectly entered (by host themselves or other parties), all in all causing hiccups in the hosting/joining process.
Finally, hosting a coop game does not remember the Lobby name or Lobby password the way that Custom Games do, creating another (albeit minor) impedance and opportunity for errors when re-hosting a game.
Describe the solution you'd like
In short, I'd like to see Hosting a Coop Game function more similarly to the Custom Games.
- Filter to hide passworded games.
- Friends-Only checkbox.
- Memory for previous Lobby name/password used when hosting.
- Bonus points for having a Mod-Management option under the Coop tab as well, so changing to Custom or Mods tab is not required to make adjustments.
I would not complain if Hosting a Coop Game brought up a similar window to what we see in the Custom Game section. Hell, if it did, it might even come with the merit of displaying the map for each Coop Mission to help folks remember what each one is!
Thank you for your time and your sheer gruntwork maintaining this wonderful project!
