The plan was to move it to Wayland but upstream development moved slower than expected.

I'm just wrapping up some screensaver bugs and then could start another release I would think.

I'm hoping to start shaping up the next release at the end of October.

I think FyneDesk is a strong competitor for COSMIC DE.
I'd be happy to see FyneDesk on Fedora, Debian and FreeBSD.

This is for my custom packaging format I call soup. There are ldflags to strip go binary. And also some supply variables like release version during build. Be it rpm, deb, aur the principal is almost same. Build binary with your preferred flags and after that rest is up to the packaging software of that platform. Packager controls what they will supply in control, pkgbuild, rpm spec.

There are ldflags to strip go binary.

If you use fyne package -release to prepare the app and metadata then the stripping/optimisation is all done for you.

Some NixOS users might be curious about FyneDesk as an alternative desktop, but I’m not sure the overall interest would be large given its X11/Xorg base, which is seeing reduced traction.
