Request for release with 3.14 wheels on pypi

The latest release on pypi has python 3.13 but no 3.14 wheels:

#1335 added 3.14 testing.

When would a release with 3.14 wheels be possible? I ask so that downstream projects can start testing/supporting 3.14.

We don't typically push our release schedule to match python's versions. But you can already start testing downstream projects by compiling from source. (pip install galsim should already work on 3.14 systems.) Or wait until conda does their release if you want binaries, which will probably be in the next few weeks.

Will that release also be on pypi or only conda? If so a few weeks sounds good.

Conda usually goes through all their packages in more or less dependency order and releases binaries for the new python version. Once all of GalSim's dependencies have conda releases, then it will do GalSim. It's all automatic I believe unless there are any problems.
The pypi wheel will be done when we do our next release version. But there aren't currently any plans to do that. If it's a blocker for you, we could consider it, but we usually just add the new python version whenever we have a normal release.
