Goals

Review business rules & validations related to CANs

Tasks

  • Identify what parts of the UI have CAN-related business rules
  • Understand how each part is currently developed, what rules are in place, if any
  • Determine if we need to add any new rules or change anything

Additional Context

  • This was discovered during our work on Portfolio Funding/CANs Bug #4385
  • The BL table on the Portfolio Spending tab (Child Care Research, FY 2043) was hiding budget lines using inactive CANs. This was not an intentional/designed interaction, and there are probably others we need to go back to
  • For example, what CANs display on the dropdown list when a user selects a CAN? what validations or checks should be in place to help users select the right CAN? at what points should we check CANs for their validity/active state alongside the available budget?
