Fall Guys (heroic) on Steam Deck not detecting the Deck's controller inputs

This is technically a repeat of this Reddit thread.

tldr I followed the install guide but when I launch the game (either on desktop or game mode) the game does not recognize the Steam Deck controller.

I can do configs via Steam Input, but the game has controller support hence why I am posting this.
