I believe using the system emoji keyboard works right now right? Is there a different way that you would hope to use emojis?

For text input: I think perhaps integrating it the way iMessage does would be sufficient:

And later on, I suppose message reactions would be good along with support for displaying those kinds of events which currently display as (unknown event)
