STLineFromWKB (geometry Data Type)

Returns a geometryLineString instance from an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Well-Known Binary (WKB) representation.

Syntax

  
STLineFromWKB ( 'WKB_linestring' , SRID )  

Arguments

WKB_linestring
Is the WKB representation of the geometryLineString instance you wish to return. WKB_linestring is a varbinary(max) expression.

SRID
Is an int expression representing the spatial reference ID (SRID) of the geometryLineString instance you wish to return.

Return Types

[!INCLUDEssNoVersion] return type: geometry

CLR return type: SqlGeometry

OGC type: LineString

Remarks

This method will throw a FormatException if the input is not well-formatted.

Examples

The following example uses STLineFromWKB() to create a geometry instance.

DECLARE @g geometry;   
SET @g = geometry::STLineFromWKB(0x0102000000020000000000000000005940000000000000594000000000000069400000000000006940, 0);  
SELECT @g.STAsText();
