issues installing cdash

I have a legacy cdash installation running and currently try to setup a fresh installation on a new Ubuntu 24.04 system.

this is my .env

APP_NAME=CDash
APP_ENV=production
APP_DEBUG=true
APP_KEY=****
APP_URL=https://localhost

# The following two variables are only used for docker compose production installations.
SSL_CERTIFICATE_FILE=/etc/ssl/certs/ssl-cert-snakeoil.pem
SSL_CERTIFICATE_KEY_FILE=/etc/ssl/private/ssl-cert-snakeoil.key
NUM_WORKERS=1

DB_CONNECTION=pgsql
DB_HOST=127.0.0.1
DB_PORT=5432
DB_DATABASE=cdash
DB_USERNAME=cdash
DB_PASSWORD=****

sudo -u www-data /home/CDash/install.sh passes.

I have this in my apache configuration

Alias "/cdash" "/home/CDash/public"

<Directory /home/CDash/public>
       Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
       AllowOverride None
       Require all granted
</Directory>

When I access www.example.org/cdash I get redirected to https://localhost/projects

So I cannot configure the project. Note that we need not really authentification, the software is open-source and the tests and build do not contain confidential information.

Edit: I cannot find a log for the redirect. Neither in /var/log/apache2/access.log nor in /home/CDash/storage/logs/cdash.log

Gemini solved the issue:

I needed AllowOverride All in the apache config

Hi @Fabian188, your APP_URL should be set to the location where CDash lives. I expect that changing it will resolve your issue.

That alone in APP_URL was not sufficient. It was the AllowOverride All in the apache config that was missing.
