BeardLib 4.6 adds support for lua based localization which allows for writing localization as follows:

string_id="blabla",
}
The pros of it is that it doesn't care about trailing commas, some people got used to lua and the syntax is actually easier than json as you don't need to write to wrap keys in quotation marks. You can also write comments, granted if you use the in game GUI for editing you won't be able to save comments.
If you are using BeardLib 4.6 you can already use this, just rename .txt to .lua (don't forget to update main.xml) and use the above example to begin.
