Migration of the JULES documentation
As you will probably know, we have been working on migrating the JULES documentation trunk from Trac to GitHub. I am pleased to announce that this is now live: jules-lsm.github.io/user_guide/doc
This means that the JULES doc trunk in FCM is now read-only. From now on, when making changes to the documentation and when adding or removing namelist variables in the JULES User Guide, we ask that you please only do so via the JULES GitHub repository. Please do not branch from the FCM doc trunk in Trac. Instructions on how to make a JULES documentation change in GitHub can be viewed within the working practices, here: simulation-systems/WorkingPractices/jules_docs
Instructions are also provided within the wiki of the JULES GitHub repository itself, here: jules-lsm.github.io/wiki
You will need a GitHub account in order to create a pull request and make documentation changes. Pull requests that change the documentation will be reviewed by one of the SSD Team as usual. If you have any questions at all about making JULES documentation changes, do get in touch. Please also feel free to send me your feedback on these instructions, as we are just in the beginning stages of moving from FCM to Git ahead of the disruptive Met Office Science Repository Service (MOSRS) upgrade scheduled for 2025, and eventual decommissioning of the SRS.
