ACCESS-NRI is working on the Regional Nesting Suite

ACCESS-NRI has recently begun working on a Regional Atmosphere Model tentatively called ACCESS-RAM3, based on the Regional Ancillary Suite and Regional Nesting Suite.

The current Regional Nesting Suite under development is u-dh821 a copy of u-dg768/trunk@291378, which is itself a copy of u-by395/trunk@282921

The project would also involve:

• Migration of some Python source code to GitHub
• A configurable Spack build of the UM
• Migration of UM 13.X and associated source code to private GitHub repositories
• Pushing Regional Nesting Suite changes back upstream

We are looking for guidance on how to steer and document this project on MOSRS and elsewhere, including:

1. Should the project have a Wiki page within the RMED RNS Wiki?
2. Should the project create RMED Trac tickets under RMED Ticket #112?
3. Who would review ACCESS-NRI changes to the RNS? Mark Weeks, with @ScottWales to review changes to nci-gadi site and opt configuration contents?
4. What other issues are relevant to pushing RNS changes upstream?
