Why does "reset" from the menu not boot a disk that has been inserted. You have to reset the computer again with F10. Why?

because F10 has been added specifically to boot the disk

In most other cores, resetting from the core menu does not eject everything, it just resets the computer.

Well, different cores may have different behaviors depending on nature of specific system.
If i remember right, on real Atari 800 HW you have to hold down one key (option? forgot the name) on power up/reset to be able to boot from disk.

It does boot from first power on from disk or tape. I suppose this is not a big deal, just strange.
