SQL Server support for HDFS Cloudera (CDP) and Hortonworks (HDP) external data sources are retired and not included in [!INCLUDEsssql22-md]. There's no need to use the CREATE EXTERNAL DATA SOURCE ... TYPE argument in [!INCLUDEsssql22-md].
