Matiw is a viewer for Google Maps Timeline backup files. Since Google Maps Timeline is no longer accessible via web browsers and is now only available through the mobile app with limited search functionality, Matiw aims to fill this gap.
- Upload Google Maps Timeline backup files.
- Filter timeline data by:
- Date range.
- Specific dates (year, month, day, or all three).
Google Maps Timeline's mobile app lacks advanced search capabilities, making it difficult to efficiently analyze your timeline history. With Matiw, you can easily explore your timeline backups with more granular control over your searches.
To export your Google Maps Timeline data using the iOS app:
- Open the app.
- Navigate to App Settings.
- Select Personal Content.
- Tap Export Timeline Data.
Google Maps Timeline backups are no longer available through Google Takeout. Backups can only be obtained via the mobile app for privacy reasons.

Matiw does not share any personal or sensitive data with anyone. Your data remains entirely private and secure.
