General notes/recommendations

  • Explorer is very professional looking.
  • A docker image might be a good distribution mechanism.
  • Explorer should include some instructive narrative and/or some a things to try document.
  • Add tool tips to controls..
  • Find a way to address CORS Issues when running the software locally.
  • Provide some other default data sets other than bathymetry.
  • The checkbox in layer settings seems extraneous.
  • Retrofit/share code for GeoPackage in WWJ.
  • WWSK should be listed here. http://www.geopackage.org/implementations.html

Explorer.worldwind.earth

  • The Bing imagery doesn’t show well (at least in MN). It is faint/washed out.
  • Weather tab doesn’t appear to do anything.
  • Needs some narrative to let users know what is going on.
  • Tools need hints/tips.

Questions

  • Does WWSK’s GeoPackage plugin compete with or augment GeoServer’s plugin?
  • Why was the GeoPackage code copied vs. forked?
  • What is the purpose of the red indicator on the perimeter of the compass? It appears to move randomly.
