Guidelines

  • I have read the FAQ and it doesn't cover my request.
  • I have searched the issue tracker for open and closed issues that are similar to the feature request I want to file, without success.
  • I'm on the latest version.
  • I'm not using a test build (alpha/beta/release-candidate).
  • This issue contains only one feature request.

Problem Description

The app details page currently has a title header (wrongly named Homepage) and e footer containing the navigation buttons. These items obfuscate precious space on an already flooded overview and don't have much added value.

Proposed Solution

Please bring back the previous layout without the header and footer.

It could also use a massive reduction in the whitespace/padding. A header and 6 buttons should not take up half the screen. There's twice as much white space as there is content!

Not happening for now. The UI changes are applied based on specified composables to provide adaptable UI (aka big-screens-friendly UI).

I've already tried multiple iterations and the current one was the only one to fit as a compromise providing adaptability without making the UI hierarchy complex.

Whitespace is/was always a huge topic for power-users. For general users (based on which I make my design choices), it's beneficial out of accessibility and usability reasons to have enough whitespace.

Does this wontfix label also apply to removing the header and footer of the app page? Then I'll just stick to 8.3.8. I'm not a power user but the space claimed by these unnecessary additions is too much for me.

@heinhuiz yup, it's meant for the whole issue.
