  • I'm not using a test build (alpha/beta/release-candidate).
  • This issue contains only one bug.

Describe the bug

  1. Download Neo Backup from github, f-droid, etc.
  2. Try to install
  3. First, Google protect blocked install but can continue
  4. Second, Samsung protector blocked and only cancel button.
  5. adb push also blocked by samsung

Expected Behavior

Install app and launch

Neo Backup's Version

8.3.11

Installation Source

Official F-Droid repo

Last Known Working Version

No response

Relevant information

  • Device: Galaxy S25
  • Android Version: Android 15
  • ROM: Samsung official

I have no developer account on Google/Samsung and as such, all apps signed by me would be considered unsafe by these "protection" systems. I wasn't aware that Samsung have an even more restrictive system than Google's already too restrictive one. But there should be a way to disable/ignore the Samsung one (here's a result from a quick search: https://www.androidauthority.com/enable-sideloading-one-ui-6-1-1-3463446/)

That said, I'm not sure to what extend you own your device if Samsung has the say on such thing.
