Nell Merlino has mobilized more than 20 million people in movements to promote women’s economic independence. Nell created Take Our Daughters to Work Day, started Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence and launched Make Mine a Million with Hillary Clinton. She also helped develop Walmart’s Women’s Economic Empowerment program and served as Pathways Envoy for the US State Department promoting entrepreneurship. Nell is the author of “Stepping Out of Line: Lessons for Women Who Want it Their Way in Life, in Love, and at Work” from Broadway Books, available on Amazon, and “Cracking the Glass Ceiling and Raising the Roof” in MIT Innovations Journal, Winter/Spring 2013.

Preeta Bansal brings extensive experience to the PBB Board of Trustees from her career as a senior executive at the intersection of law, public policy, government, academia, and global business. She is currently a Lecturer at the MIT Media Lab, President of Social Emergence Corporation (a not-for-profit corporation focused on empowering human networks at the base of the socio-economic pyramid), and a Senior Advisor at MIT’s Laboratory for Social Machines. She has served as a global general counsel for HSBC Holdings plc in London, general counsel and senior policy advisor in The White House (Office of Management and Budget), partner and practice chair of leading international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City, Solicitor General of the State of New York, constitutional law professor, and Chair of a federal government human rights commission focused on religious freedom and interfaith cooperation.
<br><br>
A constitutional and intellectual property, media and technology lawyer by background, she is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard-Radcliffe College and a former law clerk to a U.S. Supreme Court Justice (1990-1991). She has been profiled by The New York Times as a “poised and playful” “superstar” and a “nimble, unorthodox thinker,” and the New York Law Journal referred to her as “one of the most gifted lawyers of her generation, who combines a brilliant analytical mind with solid, mature judgment.” She is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Chatham House. Her present work relates to empowering communities and human networks through direct, self-regulating peer-to-peer and citizen-to-citizen engagement (facilitated by new technologies, emerging legal forms, and global ethical frameworks).

<h3>Mary E. Rasenberger</h3>
<p class="person-title left">Trustee & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE AUTHOR’S GUILD</p>
<p class="left">
Mary Rasenberger currently serves as the Executive Director of the Author’s Guild, America’s oldest and largest professional organization for writers, providing advocacy on issues of free expression, authors’ contractual rights and copyright protection. Mary brings more than 25 years’ experience in intellectual property, technology and copyright law to the PBB Trust. Prior to the Author’s Guild, she was a partner at Cowan, DeBaets, Abraham & Sheppard LLP, focusing on technology, copyright and media law, and she served as project manager to the Copyright Office where she oversaw the development and drafting of the new Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, Third Edition. Previously she was counsel in the Intellectual Property and Technology Group at Skadden, Arps, and from 2002-2008, served in the Copyright Office as a Special Advisor and in the Office of Strategic Initiatives at the Library of Congress, where she managed the National Digital Information and Infrastructure Preservation Program.

Mary earned her M.A. in Philosophy from Boston College and J.D from Harvard Law School, and then went on to work in Intellectual Property Law at various New York law firms and music label BMG Music. Mary is currently chair of the Copyright Division of the ABA Intellectual Property Section Law, a trustee and executive committee member of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A., a member of the New York City Bar Association Copyright and Literary Property Committee, and founder of Copyright Awareness Week. Ms. Rasenberger also frequently writes and speaks on issues relating to copyright law and new technologies.

Eva Casey Velasquez brings an impressive expertise in identity theft, specifically a specialized training in investigation of economic crimes, and a passion for consumer protection to the PBB Trust. She currently serves as the President/CEO at the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC), a non-profit organization that serves victims of identity theft. Prior to her work at ITRC, Eva served as the Vice President of Operations for the San Diego Better Business Bureau and spent over 20 years at the San Diego District Attorney’s Office.<br><br>
Eva has been featured on many broadcast outlets and is regularly quoted in publications as an expert on identity theft. She has presented at numerous conferences and events, including American Bar Association (ABA) Annual Meeting, the National Consumers League State of ID Theft Conference, IDT911’s Privacy Xchange and CyberTech’s Data Privacy Day Masters Event. Eva is determined to educate the world about identity left, privacy, scams and fraud.

Amy is recognized within her industry and by national industry organizations as one of the top talents in her cohort and as counselor to leading organizations involved in emerging technology. Her leadership has focused on industry-disruptive initiatives. She is currently VP of Legal at Dataminr, a technology company – named to the 2015 class of Technology Pioneers by the World Economic Forum – that applies advanced analytics and machine learning social media. Prior to Dataminr, Amy was with the internationally renowned software developer and publisher ZeniMax Media Inc., where she helped transform their business model to become an international e-commerce operator.
<br><br>
A subject-matter expert in domestic and international data privacy, Amy has led corporate initiatives with significant public policy and multicultural components. She is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and the University of Chicago, as well as a former clerk of the Delaware Court of Chancery. She has worked at various law firms across the country, including Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale & Dorr. Amy was selected as one of the “Top Ten 30-Somethings.” of 2015 by the Association of Corporate Counsel and a regional finalist for the White House Fellowship. She is a frequent speaker in her industry on topics related to privacy and legal considerations in technology innovation.
