open source - "software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified."

source available- "software for which the source code is public, but not permitted to be redistributed or modified"

ah, so basically everywhere i wrote open source, i write it as source available?

Yes, but github does not permit Source Available in public repos. I would recommend hosting your own Gitea if you want to have Source Available repos

yes it does, github permits whatever license because the terms of the license does not really impact github

as stated in the github tos section D.3, the act of publishing a repository publicly onto github:

  1. grants them the rights to copy, publish, and index the repository in whatever way necessary for github to function (see section D.4)
  2. grants the users of github the rights to view and fork the repository (see section D.5)
