Suddenly...Nothing Happening When I Try To Change Art. Not Even the Screen Pop-Up When You Add to Non-Steam Games

Windows 11 (win64).

Microsoft Edge (shut up, I like it).

It's been working consistently on my Desktop PC since I got it and now, all of a sudden, nothing is happening.

I click on any of the two options (Apply to Steam, or non-steam) and my mouse curser will show a loading symbol for a second or two and then...nothing.

I have tried deleting the App, grabbing the latest version and re-registering. I have set it to "Run as Administrator" and still nothing.

I also have it installed on my ROG Ally and it works as normal on there.

What could cause this issue?

Exactly the same issue here with Chrome, on latest version, restarted steam, boop test popup is working, but no image is booping, and i don't have the command window flashing anymore.

Confirming same issue using latest 1.3.1 version of SGDBoop

Error log shows the following error:

Could not create URI protocol. [80]

I have the same issue on Linux Flatpak. In my case, I've narrowed it down to something to do with Boop's handling of Sourcemods. I haven't tracked down exactly which one yet, but when I disable access to my sourcemods folder, it starts working again.

No log is produced, either. It just crashes outright.

No prob, already been working on it. I went through all my Source mods and found these ones that cause Boop to crash.

• Half-Life 2: MMod (Sebastian)

At first, I thought it had to do with the first curly bracket in gameinfo.txt having whitespace before it, but the MMod compatibility patches don't include such a thing, so I'm not sure.

EDIT: It has something to do with indentation in gameinfo.txt. I was able to get Boop to launch with Aftermath in place by either normalizing the spaces or converting all indentations to tabs.

EDIT 2: I actually can't get it to run with the MMod Resistor patch at all, regardless of my changes to the gameinfo.txt.

EDIT 3: I got it to work, but it doesn't make any sense to me. The Resistor patch, after normalizing indents, includes this line:

        SteamAppId  243730  // Mount Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer content (this fixes an issue where the game would crash upon trying to load the main background map)

That line specifically causes boop to crash. After a lot of trial and error, I determined that this line works fine:

Any more characters than that and it crashes. 133 characters long, or 125 if indention is ignored.

EDIT 4: It's counting the indention. The magic number is 133 characters, any longer than that and it crashes.
