Recurrence Compatibility across apps #1986

Hi, First of all, let me tell you I love the app. Works great so far and does what I want it to do. I sync through Nextcloud and no issues so far. My problems began when I started using recurrence with tasks and tried to see them in my desktop. When I mark an instance of the series as completed by clicking the checkbox in the App, the other apps behave weirdly. I also tried completing from desktop apps and it kind of work. I tried with KOrganizer, Thunderbird and Evolution and all behave differently. KOrganizer seems to be the best well-behaved but still. So this is what I see: KOrganizerThe task still appears as overdue even though I already completed it on the App. If "Complete" the overdue task in KOrganizer, it goes away. But it is kind of annoying. EvolutionThe task still appears as overdue as well. I didn't try marking it as completed as I didn't want to break my existing KOrganizer workflow as it took me a long time to finally get it in sync with the app. I also see two individual instances of a series marked as completed as if they were separate yet, it still says they are overdue. ThunderbirdSame thing, tasks will appear as overdue. Weirdly enough, not all of them appear as overdue. Some do show the correct next due date. I also see the 2 individual instances of a series marked as completed. TheoryFrom what I can see, if I mark an instance as completed in Thunderbird, it creates a completed task for that instance. Not sure if KOrganizer does as well. Evolution however marks the entire series as completed. Even though it is supposed to support recurrence, I can't figure out how to mark only one instance as completed. However, if I mark an instance completed in jtx, it will not create a separate instance, but instead will add an entry in the exception list to "remove it". This does not seem to be respected or something, because that is what makes it still show as due. The weird thing is, if I delete the Completed instances, Thunderbird still seems fine with the correct due date of the next instance, but KOrganizer is then complaining. If I mark them as complete in KOrganizer, then they show up again in Thunderbird. If I don't delete the completed instances, both are correct. Evolution seems to be the most broken of all of them. So, anyone has a working workflow with recurrence working for tasks? I'm this close to just installing waydroid and running jtxBoard on my PC, but I don't want to have a separate Calendar App. That was what I liked from KOrganizer or Thunderbird. But if there is no other way, I'll have to. |

Ended up setting waydroid and running jtxboard on it. Not ideal, but oh well. |
