[Feature] Contacts and Calendar modules (long term)

Add two new modules and associated views/lists: Contacts (CardDav VCARD) and Calendar (CalDav VEVENT)

Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternative is to use separate apps like Simple Calendar and Simple Contacts (that are no longer maintained).
Or to rely on cloud based solutions like Google contact and calendar

Additional context
Jtx already offers Caldav/Dav5x compliant Journals, Notes and Tasks.
Jtx is easy to use, customisable and standards compliant and has no equivalent.
Adding Contacts and Calendar at some point in the future would make it the absolute best Personal Information Management app.

Here is some recommendations for you :

I use the default android contacts app
(com.android.contacts). It works with davx5 caldav sync. And it does not phone home to google if that's your concern.

As a calendar I use Etar which is also open source and also works with davx5 caldav sync. Have you tried it ?

I personally prefer to have one app for each purpose, though having the option is fine too.

Hi, I get the need for more modules, but this comes with a huge effort. jtx Board uses its own database to store entries in the background for tasks, notes and journals. Events (standard calendar entries) are stored in a dedicated Android database (which cannot contain other elements than events).
So while it seems easy from UI perspective to extend the app to support events, the technical background is a completely different one.
And regarding contacts it's clear that the UI would be completely different.
Clearly everything is doable, but it just comes with a lot of effort.
It would be a different story if I could make a living out of this app, but we are far far away from that.

Thanks @RealAestan for the recommendations. Haven't tried Etar yet and will keep it in mind.
Re contacts, I moved to Simple Contacts as it is more lightweight than the Android Contacts app.

If you prefer one app per purpose, then you could look at Tasks.org too. Jtx is already bundling 3 purposes in one app and it would seem natural to add Contacts and Calendar.

That said, as @patrickunterwegs noted, this would be a huge effort and is unlikely to happen.
