[editor] view two documents side by side

It's desirable to view two documents side-by-side, so that I can cut-paste content between them.
This may be realized with either a split view (similar to Visual Studio Code) or permit opening the same workspace with same identity in two browser tabs (move sync and storage logic into service worker so they don't conflict, browser tab is UI only).
