Which OS?

Win10 Home

Which release?

22H2

Describe the bug

When trying to install the new version of Virtual Display Driver v24
I am met with a "Virtual Display Driver Is Already Installed" error, when I click to uninstall the previous version, I am met with
"Unable to locate uninstallation information in registry"

I know I likely messed up, due to the fact I manually removed drivers Via cmd prompts because other versions were'nt letting me update, I was trying to install a windows 10 compatible version, but with all the certs I installed, I think I fudged up somewhere.

Now It's likely stuck on my pc and is conflicted with hidden files I can't delete.

Not sure how one could reproduce this ,and system restore is impossible it seems on my pc as of current.
So I'm unsure I can roll back before I messed all this up.

Thanks to anyone who can possibly fix this.

Refer to wiki on manual uninstall. You need to remove the VirtualDisplayDriver registry key located in the local machines software registry

@negikunarts It's high time for you to install revo uninstaller (free one would do ) and open it and search inside it for the VirtualDisplayDriver and go thru it's process , it will first call the uninstaller of the program itself and then search for leftover files (registry also) and then you can choose to delete them as well. Watch this on YouTube

But it may be possible that it doesn't list the VirtualDisplayDriver. So what you can do next is use this utility tool WinFindr by Jouni Flemming (It's a legit tool) to find the registry keys + any file on system related to virtual display driver and then delete them. You can also use "Everything" tool to find the files on system related to VirtualDisplayDriver (it's doesn't search inside the registry though). You might also want to check this location C:\Windows\System32\drivers\UMDF\MttVDD.dll and delete this dll created by virtualDisplayDriver.

And next make sure to have this Revo Uninstaller on your system and uninstall any program whatsoever thru this amazing tool.
