Confused by README and arch wiki instructions

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to set this up, but I can't quite tell what it is that I'm supposed to be entering into the conf file, and where.

Per the arch wiki: "fill /etc/conf.d/simple-kdump.conf using any booting kernel/initramfs combination"

Per the README: "Modify simple-kdump.conf Note the kernel doesn't need to match the kernel you want to debug. So choose your favorite/smallest/whatever kernel and its initramfs."

What should I enter, and where, to use this with, for example, the LTS linux kernel?

They are the same thing.

using any booting kernel/initramfs combination doesn't conflict with the kernel doesn't need to match the kernel you want to debug part from the README.

And they are both pointing to the same simple-kdump.conf file.

If you want to use LTS kernel, go with something like this:

KERNEL=/boot/vmlinuz-linux-lts
INITRAMFS=/boot/initramfs-linux-lts.img

BOOT_OPTIONS really depends on your rootfs.
Normally recommended to use the content from /proc/cmdline (don't forget to remove the initramfs related options).
