Master-mega serial communication is flaky

Basic communication is open, but the master often complains that it got a "bad cmd", which I think means that the Mega-to-master channel got corrupted. The reverse direction seems pretty clean, at least as echoed back over the Mega Serial to the serial monitor. ALthough sometimes lines get interleaved if they come too quickly.
