On iPad Safari, after beginning playback, the media object page randomly refreshes and leaves user back at the start of the video. This can happen 00:20 seconds in, or after 03:30, or even later than that. Upon refresh, Safari very briefly displays an error that says something like "this page was refreshed because an error occurred," and then the page refreshes.
There do not appear to be any issues showing up in the console or the network tab.
This has been verified in iOS 17 and 18 in Safari both in Browserstack and on physical devices. Chrome seems to be working ok on these devices. iPhones seem to be working fine, even with Safari.
On the Ramp demo site for the example video below, the video content pauses playback at about 2:30, but the audio continues. The page does not refresh.
