Compilation generates smaller file than expected

Hello, I'm trying to compile the gambatte for my Q90, I intend to add a functionality to start loading the savestate.

I can finish the compilation but the generated file is around 500kb (it should be more than 2MBs) and it doesn't work. I'm using MyooCFW's buildroot, I tried both with musl and uclibc. I can compile buildroot and generate.imgs for my powkiddy.

Does anyone have any tips on what I could check?
