Hello Community,
I have a quick question regarding communications with this battery. It appears this pack is exactly the same as the one for Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV 13.8kWh listed in supported batteries wiki. However, my concern is with pins. Although, enclosure, internals and plugs seem to be the same on both platforms, I'm wondering if comms pins are different than those on hyundai. Have you guys seen any differences in communications between Kia and Hyundai when they share exactly the same battery pack?
There is very limited info about this pack on the net and the AI claims Kia started using E-GMP BMS logic in 2022 which seems to use different comms pins than that on 2018+ Santa Fe PHEV. I'm prone to try it out but I don't want to risk frying the BMS.
Your feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Edit:
I've done more research and it doesn't look like the battery picture posted under Santa Fe PHEV is correct. I think PHEV was introduced in 2021 and its battery has different enclosure.
Edit:
So I have tried pinouts according to Santa Fe PHEV but I get no communication. Do I have to have the interlock loop closed in order to communicate with BMS?
