Hello devs,

In lighttable full preview is a badge showing image name, exposure info and rating info. The badge overlaps the image; most of the time is fine, but sometimes the badge covers an important part of the image.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
no

Describe the solution you'd like
What I consider to be a nice feature:

  1. badge info to show image number from the collection eg: 48/100 if the current collection has 100 image and image 48 is displayed
  2. badge to be displayed out of the image area if image size and crop factor gives enough space.
    or
2'. badge info to be formatted in a single line and displayed on the bottom of the image, out of image area
2''. preferences option to select badge mode.

Thanks

Click on the star icon at top right while full preview is active (you probably need to press Ctrl-Shift-T to cycle visibility of the top toolbars) to select how the image info is shown.

Or just move your mouse off of the center view - by default, the badge is overlaid only while the mouse cursor hovers over the image area. In maximized view with all panels collapsed, that would mean putting your mouse on darktable's window title bar; in full-screen view that isn't possible, so if that's how you've been using full preview, I'm not surprised you never noticed.

Thank you @ralfbrown. NO 2 feature exists, my mistake...not researching enough before posting.

For NO1, image number from the collection is not working as expected in full preview.
Let me explain: in grid view, image 5 of 100 is selected. Go to full preview, image 5 is displayed and 5 of 100 is shown on the bar => OK; but if I scroll or [left] [right] to another image let's say imaga no 10, the indicator remains on 5/100 => NOK.
From my point of view, indicator shall update with image that is currently displayed, (eg 10 of 100) and when returning to grid view, image 10 to be selected, not image 5, because image 10 is the last image the user focused on.

Thanks,
Bogdan
