I’m interested in the scenario where Synapse is restarted and macaroon_secret or registration_shared_secrets are modified.

  • What are Synapse’s guarantees around the those config options?
  • Will it break something?
  • Are there any further steps necessary to not break things?
  • Are there any other footguns?
