Problem

Currently there is no option to manage existing WiFi connections. Once connection was made it can not be forgotten and system will attempt to auto reconnect each time when that SSID will be in range. Its fine when you have 1 or 2 remembered networks, but once you travel a lot it quickly goes over 20 or more in short period of time with all the airport hot-spots and friend or colleagues shared mobile phone connections.

Proposal

It would be great to have implemented following options:

  • ability to forget remembered WiFi connections
  • edit remembered networks without necessity to connect first. Currently it is not possible.
  • option to enable/disable auto-reconnect
  • add above option during first network connection
  • add one-time connection option, like temporary. Once disconnected WiFi is forgotten. Can be very useful for hot-spots.

Prior Art (Optional)

These are basic features that can be found in any modern system, Android, iOS, Windows also Gnome settings etc.
