Based on some user feedback, it does not seem intuitive where channels can be dragged from or how the mechanism works. We should look into how we could improve this.

When selecting multiple ensembles/vectors combinations in SimulationTimeSeries-module, the number of x/y data combinations can quickly exceed maximum of 12 subplots (limit in Distribution plot). With default statistical visualization in SimulationTimeSeries, all ensembles/vectors combinations are selected for Distribution plot when dragging channels to axis, as the time series dialog does not open when in "statistics" visualization mode. Thereby all combinations are selected by default. The module then shows error "Too many plots to display. Due to performance limitations, the number of plots is limited to 12." as soon as "individual realizations" and time stamp is selected in SimulationTimeSeries-module when showing 2D Scatter in Distribution plot.
Maybe having the settings for selecting the data sources either inside the settings component or as an additional component/drawer on the right hand side that gets activated/displayed when switching to a data channel receiver could make this more clear.
