API to update image

I would love to be able to push an image to InkyPi overnight using an HTTP API (which I would then call from Node Red / Home Assistant).

What I miss and what I think is a basic feature is that you can fill a folder with images so that they are displayed (randomly) at a certain interval.
A nice addition is then that you do not store the images locally, but that you can use for example a server or cloud service to get your images from.
