Thanks for the report, Please in future Upload the log file and don't copy and paste the text |
There is no crash shown in the log, can you open Event Viewer windows start menu search > Click Windows logs > Click Application > Screenshot any errors that have Files shown on the first line |
There is unfortunatly no error shown Files on the first line.
|
Odd that there's no errors, without one it will be difficult to fix. Can you go to Files settings > Advanced > Edit settings files > Look for UserID and send the text in " " |
Does Event Viewer have anything? |
Files just crashed when I wanted to open a new tab (which is new, this
hasn't been the problem so far). This time I found a suitable entry in
the event viewer.

Could you share the info of it with us? It should have an errror code, the origin and more. |
I had attached the screenshot of the Event Viewer. Where can I find the
other information you need?

Email attachment doesn't work. Please send it directly. |
All of them seem to be the same crash (STATUS_STACK_BUFFER_OVERRUN), the same function, the same dll. The same as: Could you try with Files Preview and see if that thing still persists? |
I already use Files Preview because I was hoping it would be more stable. So the crashes occurred under Files Preview. |
It seems like the issue is coming from WinUI but it's hard to say for sure. We're planning to test WinAppSdk 1.6 in the upcoming weeks so we can check back then and see if it's resolved. |
Thank you, I hope you can solve the problem. Good luck! |

@rhiinschnookele Can you see if this is still an issue in the preview version https://files.community/download |
Possibly related to #16808 as it the same area but is a different crash error |
